Report on Field Trip to Hyderabad Literary Festival, 2020 by Mariya Fatima, BA

The Hyderabad Literary Fest Is An Annual event that celebrates  creativity in all forms. It's an event that draws  many writers, artists, scholars , poets , publishers from all over India and abroad, each year. The Hyderabad Literary Fest 2020 was Organized by the "Hyderabad Literary Trust" in association with the Government of Telangana and with the support of several academic, literary, Cultural Organizations & Publishing houses. It was held on the
24th, 25th & 26th of January 2020 at Vidyaranya School, Secretariat, Khairatabad. I was fortunate to witness this literary gala along with my classmates. I thank, Head, Department of English, Ms Suchitra Reddy for encouraging and supporting our trip.

The Fest consisted of talks, panel discussions, poetry readings, workshops, exhibitions, book launchs, cultural programmes and Prize Distribution. It was a lovely experience especially because Dr.Jhilam Chattaraj - our Lecturer and the 'Editor-in-chief' of the Quills Literary Club was invited as one of the Delegates to conduct a workshop.

The workshop was held on  the 24th of January 2020 on the topic  "Click and Crit with XS: A workshop on Writing Micro reviews for the Digital Media". The workshop was very informative as it explained about the importance of poetry & book reviews on the digital platform.

Witnessing our College- RBVRR Women's College & The Quills Literary Club, being awarded  the " Best Institute for pleasure for Reading Award* " by the 'Food for Thought Foundation' , was indeed a moment of delight for me. Another moment of Pride & Honour for me was speaking on behalf of the *Quills Literary Club* on the stage after having received the Award.

I indeed am really Grateful that I got to be a part of such an amazing event and it  was really a memorable experience for me. On behalf of al the members, I thank Club, Chairperson, Ms Suchitra Reddy and Principal, Dr K. Sarada for supporting and encouraging us to take up such activities.
