“Covid Batch” - By Deepshikha Patangay of BA Final Year

Dear Diary,
I still remember the time when the pandemic hit our lives. After our intermediate exams, we waited to see what was going to happen in life. As soon as the results came out, we applied for various colleges. I still remember the first day of our graduation which was online. It looked like sci-fi movies or the future technology predictions which were implemented in our lives. From normal to new normal, we shifted to technical life. Everything was on our laptops and mobiles. Sitting at home we attended our online classes.

It went on for days, and for months and we waited for the opportunity to go to college. The time finally arrived, and we started to go to college in the second year of our college life. We were tagged as the "Covid Batch". Despite many differences, exploring new things and meeting new people, we were getting adjusted in our lives. We made friends, fought, laughed, cried, enjoyed, organized events, and grabbed every opportunity that was given.

The most beautiful part of our journey was friendship. Which taught us to stick together, support, and have each other's back. I still can't believe that it was like a 5 minute rollercoaster ride. All those happy moments flash in front of my eyes, and now the laughter has turned into tears in my eyes.

Never knew that graduation life was so beautiful and memorable. There was so much that we learned from our lecturers, seniors, classmates, batchmates, juniors, and from the mistakes that we made. But every step of the opportunity in college helped us to mold ourselves into better personalities. I still can't believe that we have to leave. Till yesterday we were wishing for the holidays but now we wish to stay for a little longer time. The love that we received and the bond that we made, finally it's time to say goodbye. The college is like a tree, every department is like a branch of the tree and we the leaves of it. Together, united, hardworking and happy.

I hope our juniors will follow the legacy as we followed our seniors. I hope they too will understand the value of people and treat everyone equally. I hope they enjoy it more with respect rather than fighting and blaming. I hope they stick together as a family by keeping the ego aside as they grab the opportunities in their lives. I hope we all succeed in life and stay happy even after leaving. It's not the end, but a phrase to shift to another path of life. These memories will remain special in my heart. The "Covid Batch" is finally leaving with confidence to face life.

Love,
Batch of 2020-23
